Sunny Society is a passionate group of people who are dedicated to improve children’s education and the lives of the backward and disadvantaged sections of the society. As a non-profitable charity organization Sunny Society works on humanitarian issues and community service project to bring positive changes in our society with a vision of better and beautiful Bangladesh.
The organization is focused towards creating a sustainable solution of social problem and ensure sustainable social development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Since its establishment in 2017, Sunny Society has been actively working on the following sectors: Poverty elimination, Education, Health and Nutrition, Human Rights and Environment
Starting from 2017 we have till now-
Sunny Society envisions a society where every person will have the quality of social leadership and work for ensuring sustainable social development.
The mission of Sunny Society is to ensure socialization for every member of the society so that they can possess the quality of social leadership and tackle the problems with his or her own effort to work towards ensuring social development.
On 11th November 2017, Responding to Nahid Hasan's invitation some young students of Dhaka University first join Infront the Aparajeyo Bangla and planned to form a voluntary organization Named Sunny Society. They had outlined the formation and activities of this organization. It was proposed to form a convening committee to determine its objectives and programs.
Sunny Society has initiated a project named ‘Research for Better Result’ which have conducted a variety of study and research on different social issues and problems. It is Sunny Society's own research cell with the aim of opening the doors of various possibilities in the development of the society and the awakening of the nation.
A group of representatives of Sunny Society visited the Kholamora slum of Kamrangirchar in search of a school site for a pilot project called "School Bag" and selected it as a school site. Then they held a meeting with the guardians and other family members in the slum on that project. They established a school with the support of the guardians and organized the first class by gathering all the children.
Sunny Society organized its first General meeting at TSC Cafeteria, University of Dhaka. The main purpose of the meeting were the official introduction of the newly added members and volunteers, presentation of Sunny Society's goals and objectives and a strategic discussion on how the members and volunteers can help us to make greater impacts in the future.
Sunny Society organized a National Children's Day program with more than 150 underprivileged children at Sunny Society's school in Kamrangirchar slum. This was the first official event of the Sunny Society. The purpose of this event was to cut cake and organize sports competition with street children. All the children of the school participated in the event spontaneously with joy and excitement. Food and gifts were arranged for the children along with distribution of free books at the end of the event. About 20 students from Dhaka University, along with members of Sunny Society and many local people were present on the event.
Sunny Society organized a campaign to prevent smoking during holy month of Ramadan. In this mouth we can leave all kind of bad habit through practicing.Sunny Society Convinced people to practice of giving up smoking. They can help the helpless street children with Sunny Society by spending these moneys which they waste behind smoking.
On 1st June 2018, Sunny Society take Mohesha village as a model for pilot project. In this village, Sunny Society established a school, empower women through Campbell duck project, arrange tree planting, organize health camping, ensure encommunity participation and development.
Sunny Society and The Good Earth (an non-governmental organization) have come to an understanding and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together for the project named "Essential videos for Good Life". The objective of the project was made 15 videos . The video lectures have been made based on the findings of our own Research. These video lectures/ video guides will help people to live a better and healthier life.
On 14th April 2019, To share the joy of Pahela Boishakh with underprivileged children, Sunny Society in collaboration with Drazz and Ignite Youth Foundation. We offered new clothes for more than 100 Students of Sunny Society Model School, Mohesha, Jashore.
There are a large number of people who do not have access to health care. These folks rarely get the opportunity to see doctors or other health care providers on a regular basis. That is why Sunny Society created this initiative to assist poor individuals and communities in adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyles and advocating for SDG goals. We arranged for doctors to volunteer for a day, and a group of volunteers from several medical colleges collaborated with the doctors on a health campaign.
On 16th January 2020, Sunny Society organized awareness campaign to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a new disease, most of the people had not clear idea about coronavirus and did not know how to prevent this. Sunny Society distributes soap and masks among the poor people of the village. Sunny society also conducts many campaigns on online and social media to prevent the spread of corona virus.
To combat Amphan disaster and climate change, Sunny Society planted trees at various important locations in of Jessore and atkhira district and provided fruit trees to the poor women of the village. On the said occasion, the members of Sunny Society planted about 100 trees and distributed 200 fruit saplings among the villagers.
Sunny Society started project Campbell Ducks with a motto " দরিদ্রতা দূরীকরণে ক্যাম্বেল হাঁস ডিম দিবে বারো মাস" to uplift backward women economically. Sunny Society distributed ducklings among 80 families step by step so far.That ducks are now fully grown, laying eggs and meeting the family's meat needs. At the same time, by selling eggs, women are contributing to increasing the monthly income of the family and making decisions with men for the development of the family. In this way women empowerment is increasing and gender equality is ensured.
On January 1, 2022, the Sunny Society Model School was officially re-established. The new school was built with bamboo, bricks and sack fence with Sunny Society's own funding at Mahisha village in Jessore district. More than 50 needy students study in this school. The school is run by two experienced teachers.
Sunny Society assists people in finding and giving blood using the social media platform. Sunny Society promotes regular blood donation among its members. More than 1000 people have received blood donation assistance from Sunny Society.
